Running GNOME Applets in XFCE

A excellent article which shows you how to run GNOME Applets in your XFCE Panel:

http://bapoumba.wordpress.com/2008/01/04/add-gnome-applets-to-the-xfce-panel/

In a nutshell:

  • Install xfce4-xfapplet-plugin
  • Add the xfapplet applet to your panel and add the gnome applet within it

In my case i used it to run the GNOME System monitor (Load meter) which can be installed in xubuntu by installing the package “gnome-system-monitor”
